# CopyrightChains

> CopyrightChains is the registration chain in ProofProfile's dual-chain copyright system. It records the fingerprint, the timestamp and the source reference for every ProofProfile recording. Each registration is also anchored in Bitcoin with OpenTimestamps, so it can be proven without trusting this site. Operated by Silicon Islands AB.

## Check a registration yourself

- A CopyrightID is the CopyrightChains transaction hash (0x followed by 64 hex characters), never a token address.
- Read the transaction as JSON, no key needed:
  GET https://explorer.copyrightchains.com/api/v2/transactions/{CopyrightID}
- Check four fields:
  - status is "ok";
  - result is "success";
  - timestamp equals (about one second before) the record's registered_at;
  - "to" is the registry contract 0x0A6378d67b1E153eF96da7e2368af07DB6679efc.
- The explorer's /tx/ pages are for people, not for agents. Use the API above.
- The Bitcoin side: every ProofProfile record links its OpenTimestamps (.ots) proof and the canonical record it seals. The proof verifies against any Bitcoin node or block explorer.
